Review - Dustbin Baby - Jacqueline Wilson

Dustbin Baby - Jacqueline Wilson

This book is about a girl who, as a baby, was dumped straight in a dustbin as soon as her mother gave birth. On the day of April's birthday, the 1st of April, April visits the past. She bunks off school and goes to her old house where she lived when she was adopted. She makes a new friend and visits an old one. She finds the person who found her.

I thought this book was very good. It was quite emotional, all the challenges she's had to go through at such a young age. There were quite a few moments where you could really feel how the character was feeling, there were also quite a few pages that had me close to tears. I would give this book a 7/ 10.

WARNING! In one part a character slits her wrists but it's not too graphic, so if you are easily scared and get nervous you may just want to consider that if you want to read that, but it's nothing too worrisome.
