Valentine's Week #2 - Favorite family relationships in books AND a giveaway because it's my birthday!

HI EVERYBODY!

I know most people relate Valentine's Day as a day for couples but I truly think it's about everybody in your life that you love. I absolutely adore books that have strong family relationships as family is so important to me! So below I thought I'd share with you my favorite family relationships that I've read about in books!

Another thing...

Today I turn 17! Because I love you guys and because it's Valentine's day and because it's my birthday, I've spoken with Usborne and we're going to be doing a giveaway of The Boy Who Sailed the Ocean in an Armchair. One of my favorite books I've read this year and one of the books I'll be featuring in this book of favorite family relationships!

So, without further adieu:
1. Laia and her brother from An Ember in the Ashes
Wow, the sibling relationship in AEITA blew me away! Laia puts her life at risk on a daily basis, struggling through beatings and branding and further physical and emotional abuse, in order to have just a chance at saving her brother.

2. Noah and Jude from I'll Give You the Sun
THESE TWO MAKE MY LIFE. They're twins and they're so completely different and they go through intense emotions such as jealousy and feelings of betrayal but at the end of the day they both love each other so much and they know everything about each other and I JUST LOVE THEM OKAY.

3. Mia and her family from If I Stay
This. book. broke. my. heart. I'm not even kidding. I remember reading this in a few hours and finishing it at 1 in the morning with the tears streaming down my face. Mia had such an amazing relationship with her parents and her little brother and she was so close to them and actually enjoyed being with them which made it all the more awful when they passed away. I absolutely loved the family dynamics in this book!

4. Izzy, Alec and Jace from The Mortal Instruments
I LOVE THIS TRIO. I love how all three of them love each other completely despite their flaws, how they would die to protect each other, how they are just there for each other, always.

5. Billy and Beckett from The Boy Who Sailed the Ocean in an Armchair
THESE TWO JUST STOLE MY HEART. They have a typical brotherly relationship, there's times where they think the other is the most annoying creature on the planet, but even through all that you can see how much they love and care for each other. They're only ten and seven years old yet they're always there to cheer the other up or reassure each other if they're feeling scared. Their brother relationship just made my heart swell with joy!
